Fading

11 Aug 2026 · poem, nonsense

Across the stars in a space balloon
With my friends, Black Hole and Moon
Departed late but arrived too soon
On the lonely planet of Karmaloon

Black Hole quickly drew a crowd
With frozen light and music loud
Event horizon depths enshroud
There never was one quite so proud

While Moon is of a quieter breed
Slow to trust and hard to read
But when her inner light is freed
It strikes a rapture few exceed

We celebrate the end of time
The breaking down of paradigm
For neither reason nor for rhyme
But to revel in the dark sublime

As matter fades in mass collapse
And the final thread of reality snaps
We celebrate the Great Perhaps
And slip away into the gaps
